Signaling Transduction Modulators in Cancer Therapy

Program Description

Signaling transduction pathways are largely implicated in many types of cancer. An understanding of how the components of these pathways interact and function is integral to developing cancer therapies. This one and half day 'Signaling Transduction Modulators in Cancer Therapy' symposium featured experts in the fields of cancer biology and pharmacology. These experts presented their latest research on various topics including 'animal models and imaging', 'TRAIL mediated pathways, and 'tyrosine kinase receptors'. The program agenda allowed for networking and scientific discussion between junior scientist and senior faculty. Students and fellows were encouraged to submit a poster abstract on their research. Awards were available for the top three poster abstracts submitted. Complimentary lunch, refreshments and a poster reception were provided. There was no registration fee for this program, although space was limited and registration was required to reserve a place.
