Art: a legal update recorded december 10, 2007Webinar Program DescriptionSince the first in vitro fertilization (IVF) birth in 1978, the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART) has expanded and triumphed, allowing hundreds of thousands of individuals to build their families. Despite the enormous success, the new technologies have not been without legal conflict and controversy. This presentation will consider some of the current legal and ethical issues raised by ART, including age limits in fertility treatment, dispositional options for excess embryos, parentage determinations in collaborative reproductive arrangements including those involving same sex couples, health disparities in access to ART services and compensation of gamete donors.
The official language of this symposium is English.
This webinar with Q&A was recorded on Monday, December 10, 2007.
