Tregs and Th17 Cells in Autoimmunity

Statement of Educational Need

The recent classification of a new subset of TH cells, Th17 cells, has ignited tremendous interest as their link to a list of autoimmune diseases continues to grow. Acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanisms of Th17 cells and their effect on the immune response and autoimmunity is essential. This educational program has been developed to foster interactions and collaborations to further advance our insight into immune regulation and, ultimately, translate this knowledge into targeted therapies for autoimmune diseases.
