Upon completion of this conference, attendees will be able to:

  1. Describe current research into the etiology and pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis.
  2. Define the parameters of relapses in MS and effective management strategies.
  3. Discuss progressive forms of MS and emerging new therapies.
  4. Identify epidemiologic and genetic landmarks in multiple sclerosis.
  5. Cite effective ways of managing multiple sclerosis symptoms.
  6. Discuss rehabilitation strategies that are effective throughout the course of the disease.
  7. List new pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods of managing multiple sclerosis during acute exacerbations, in the long-term, and symptomatically.
  8. Identify treatment options in patients with breakthrough disease.
  9. Explain the use of MRI in the diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis.
