A new era in the field of immune regulation has evolved with an understanding of the relationship between regulatory and inflammatory Th1 / Th17 T cells. An international faculty of research leaders will discuss factors dictating the differentiation of these populations and the influence of regulatory vs. inflammatory T cells on immune responses and autoimmune disease. We will bring together basic and clinical scientists with interests in inflammation to highlight the mechanisms of action of inflammatory and regulatory cells and also to examine the differences in the generation of pro-inflammatory Th17 cells and protective Treg cells in mice and humans. How these populations can be manipulated for new therapeutic approaches to autoimmune disease will also be explored during this two day symposium.

This program facilitates the full engagement of junior investigators by offering ample opportunities for networking, interacting with senior faculty and discussing mutual research and clinical interests. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Junior Investigator Travel Awards will be given to the lead authors of the five most outstanding poster abstracts submitted and adjudicated by an expert panel.

Structure your abstract to include the following information: abstract title, list of authors, list of author's affiliation(s), research objective, materials/methods, results, conclusions, grant support (if applicable). Your abstract should not be more than one page in length. There is a 250 word limit for each section. It is not possible to upload graphs or charts with the online submission form.
