Stem Cells and CNS RegenerationStatement of Educational NeedMillions of people suffer from neurodegenerative diseases, and as the average life expectancy increases, the number of people afflicted with neurodegeneration is expected to rise. To date, there are no cures for these diseases, only drugs that can ameliorate the symptoms. Stem cell and gene delivery strategies have the potential to halt and even reverse disease progression for diseases such as CNS disorders. This educational, ACCME accredited program has been developed to further our understanding of the recent advances and future direction of stem cell and CNS regeneration strategies.
