Overcoming Barriers to Immune Therapy in MelanomaProgram DescriptionRecognized experts in the field of melanoma research gathered for this one-day symposium located at the Moores Cancer Center, University of California in La Jolla, California on November 11, 2006. Melanoma affects 1 in 35 individuals during their lifetime. Immune-based therapies are being developed for metastatic melanoma, a form of the cancer for which excision of the melanoma lesions is ineffective. The scientific committee assembled a unique group of basic and clinical oncologists, who presented the state-of-the-art in immune-based treatments for malignant melanomas. The program agenda allowed for networking and scientific discussion among junior scientists and senior faculty. Complimentary lunch and refreshments during session breaks was provided. |
